What is the difference between an anti-snoring mouthpiece and mouth tape?
They tackle snoring in a different way. An anti-snoring mouthpiece (like the Snurkbeugel Max) keeps your lower jaw slightly forward, so your airway remains freer, which can especially help with throat snoring, where the snoring sound originates at the back of your throat. Mouth tape works differently: it gently keeps your lips closed and thus encourages nasal breathing, which can help if you snore because you sleep with your mouth open.

Why do I snore mostly on my back?
When lying on your back, your tongue and palate fall backward, narrowing the airway. This is the most common cause of throat snoring. An anti-snoring mouthpiece keeps the lower jaw forward, keeping the airway open regardless of your sleeping position.
Why don't pillows and sprays often help with snoring?
Pillows temporarily change your sleeping position, sprays reduce swelling in the nose. But with throat snoring, the most common type, the problem lies deeper. An anti-snoring mouthguard opens the airway at throat level, where other remedies cannot reach.
When is snoring a sign of something more serious?
If you snore with breathing pauses, are extremely tired during the day, or wake up with headaches, it could indicate sleep apnea. In that case, consult a general practitioner. An anti-snoring mouthpiece helps with regular snoring; we advise against its use for diagnosed sleep apnea.
Are anti-snoring mouthpieces bad for your teeth?
Not when used correctly. The brace is made of BPA-free and latex-free EVA material that distributes pressure evenly. Slight jaw stiffness in the first few days is normal and will disappear within a week. Use is not recommended if you have dentures, missing teeth, or severely irregular teeth; consult your dentist if in doubt.
What is the difference between the Snurkbeugel Max and Comfort?
The Max offers extra stability and is adjustable up to 10 mm forward, suitable for more intense snorers. The Comfort is softer and ideal if you are trying a snoring brace for the first time. Both work on the same principle: moving the lower jaw forward to open the airway.
How long does the snoring brace last?
Approximately 3 months with daily use. Rinse the retainer with lukewarm water after each use and store it dry. Replace the retainer when the material softens or the fit deteriorates, as its effectiveness will decrease.
