Snoring Mouthpiece Max: more space in the throat
During sleep, the jaw and throat muscles relax; when the lower jaw slips backward, the airway narrows and the vibrating sound is created. The Snoring Mouthpiece Max subtly brings the lower jaw forward so that the airway remains more open and snoring sounds can decrease. Why does this set combine a snoring mouthpiece with nasal strips?
The two products work in different areas. Nasal strips gently pull the nostrils outward and can make nasal breathing feel easier. The anti-snoring mouthpiece keeps the lower jaw in a forward position. The combination may be relevant when both nasal narrowing and relaxation around the mouth and throat appear to play a role.
How do I fit the snore guard?
The dental guard is molded to your teeth using warm water. To do this, follow the included manual step-by-step and test the fit before sleeping with it. The guard should feel secure but not painful. Persistent jaw, tooth, or joint pain is a reason to stop using it and consult a dentist.
Can I wear the nasal strips and the anti-snoring mouthpiece at the same time?
Yes, that is generally possible because the nasal strips are worn externally and the splint is inside the mouth. You may want to start with one product at a time to see what is comfortable. Stop if you experience pain, shortness of breath, skin irritation, or an unnatural bite after waking up, and always follow the product manuals.
When is professional assessment more advisable than this set?
